UPSC: make your photo, signature and documents fit
Union Public Service Commission rejects uploads that break its rules. Drop your files here: each is cropped, resized and compressed to the rules below, checked, and named. Nothing is uploaded; it runs on your device.

What UPSC asks for
| File | Format | Size | Pixels | And |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photograph | JPG | 20 KB to 300 KB | 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 px |
|
| Signature | JPG | 20 KB to 300 KB | 350 × 350 to 1000 × 1000 px |
|
| Photo identity document | 20 KB to 300 KB |
|
Some examination notices narrow these limits (a 2026 instruction sheet asked 20 to 200 KB for the photograph and 20 to 100 KB for the signature): check the notice of your examination.

Frequently asked questions
- Why did UPSC reject my photo?
- Almost always the file: a format other than JPG, a size outside the window, or the wrong pixel dimensions. The table above lists what Union Public Service Commission states; the tool makes your file meet every line it can check and tells you which it cannot.
- Does my file leave my phone?
- No. The rules come with the page, and the cropping, resizing, compressing and checking run in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to us.
- The portal asks for a minimum size and my file is smaller. What happens?
- The picture is encoded sharper first. If it is still under the minimum, a comment that every reader skips is added inside the file so that it reaches the minimum; the picture itself does not change.
- Can you fix a blurred photo or a dark background?
- No. Software can crop, resize and compress; what the picture shows is for the camera. The card under each file names what UPSC asks of the picture itself.
